Bear-Resistant Products Testing Program
Testing Results Are Now Stated with a Star Rating
Rather than a Pass or Fail Rating
In June of 2008, the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee endorsed a revised testing protocol that will provide more detailed information about the relative bear-resistancy of products tested through this program. Products are now rated with a star rating based upon the amount of time they have been able to withstand contact from captive grizzly bears, whether or not the US Forest Service deems them to be "user-friendly", and whether or not they are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
